Campaign News

As reported in the Daily Caller, the Obama  Administration has proposed in its new budget, a 33% increase in subsidies for buyers of electric cars. The current tax credit to buyers of the Chevy Volt and other electric vehicles is $7,500. Obama has proposed an increase to $10,000. The administration is pushing for one million electric cars to be sold. That would mean $1 billion is subsidies to prop up the electric auto manufacturing market.

The President continues to prop up a product that the public simply does not want. And it is costing taxpayers hundreds of millions. These subsidies should end immediately.

What I would like to know is, where is Energy Chairman Fred Upton on this enormous waste of tax dollars? Will he continue to support the big-government approach rather than allowing the free market to decide what the public wants to drive? Stay tuned!
